Accident claims one life and seriously injures three

A 16-year-old female from Bonne Terre lost her life in a one-vehicle accident while attempting to flee from police Saturday morning, at 9:31 a.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 2013 Buick Enclave, driven by the victim, was fleeing from law enforcement southbound on US 67, north of Mo. 32. The driver attempted to avoid stop sticks in the roadway, causing the vehicle to travel off the west side of the road, down a steep embankment before overturning and ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a safety device.

Dr. Kernan pronounced the victim on the scene. The body was taken by the St. Francois County coroner to the St. Francois County morgue.

The vehicle involved was removed from the scene by Marler’s Towing.

Assisting the Missouri State Highway Patrol were members of the Park Hills and Farmington Police Departments, and deputies of the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department.

A two-vehicle head-on collision resulted in serious injuries to both drivers and a passenger in one of the vehicles on Friday afternoon at 12:20 p.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2008 Triumph Spirit, driven by a 44-year-old male from Bonne Terre, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane on Evanko Road, west of Cedar Run Road and a 2006 Ford F-150, driven by a 34-year-old female from DeSoto, was westbound. As the Triumph crested a hilltop, traveling east in the westbound lane, the vehicle collided head-on, ejecting both drivers and a 34-year-old female passenger from DeSoto, in the Triumph. The injured were all wearing safety devices.

The two women were both transported to Mercy Hospital South by Air Evac. The driver of the Triumph was transported to Mercy Hospital South by Arch 10 Air. All involved suffered serious injuries.

The Ford F-150 was listed as having extensive damage, while the Triumph Spirit was listed as totaled. Both vehicles were removed from the scene of the accident by Marler’s Towing.
