FARMINGTON – Aiden Hahn was joined atop the awards podium by new teammate Wyatt Fortune on Saturday afternoon as Farmington hosted its annual home wrestling tournament.
Jackson headlined the 7-team showcase with the Knights placing second. Farmington also featured two runner-up performances from Cayden Johnson and Tucker Eye.
Hahn captured first place at 138 pounds on a medical forfeit after covering three previous challengers. Fortune (113) posted a fall and two technical falls in a round-robin format.
Eye (215) had a 3-1 record with two falls and an 18-6 major decision while Johnson (157) prevailed in a fall and 11-10 decision while going 3-2.
Lane Weiss (175) earned three falls in five matches to place third. Zane Moreland (126) was also 3-2 in third place, collecting a fall and 9-5 decision along the way.
Tucker Miller (285) likewise took third with two falls in four total bouts for the Knights. Josh Akins (144) and Tayven Walker (150) each notched two victories and ended up fourth.
Parkway West Tournament
BALLWIN, Mo. – North County heavyweight Nathan Moreland-Crayton swept three opponents with falls to secure an individual title on Saturday at the Parkway West Tournament.
The Raiders ended up eighth and Central was ninth among 17 teams at the event. Althoff Catholic earned the championship plaque.
Aiden Nash (138) won an 8-7 decision in the consolation bracket, and executed two technical falls to ultimately finish third for North County.
Jon Moore (144) and Jacob Sasinger (157) posted two falls each while placing fourth, and Colten McCrorey (120) claimed a fifth-place contest with his second fall.
Jaeger Adams (120) paced Central as a runner-up with two falls. Lane Warden (165) and Matrim Politte (215) added fourth-place results.
Warden was 3-2 with three falls. Politte notched the same overall record with two technical falls plus a 13-9 decision in the quarterfinal round.
Kane Huskey (144) picked up two falls to finish fifth. Nick Fowler (150) stood seventh despite a winning mark of 3-2 with a fall, 15-0 tech fall and 9-3 decision.
Union Tournament
UNION, Mo. – Ste. Genevieve produced champions in four separate weight divisions, and finished second among 15 boys wrestling teams Saturday at the Union Tournament.
Drake Meyer (157) pinned four consecutive opponents, and won his final in 54 seconds. Jacob Warren (285) finalized his title with a 7-0 shutout following two falls.
Brody Winters (126) secured three straight falls, and Max Kruppe (138) stamped first place by posting his second fall of the day for the Dragons in 36 seconds.
Owen Roth (165) picked up three falls before finishing second, and Cameron Vogt (144) registered a fall, major decision and technical fall while going 3-2 in fourth place.
Two pins helped Kobe Fallert (120) take fifth while Rhett Murphy (106) and Drew Roth (126) settled into sixth place.
Mexico rolled to the team title.
GIRLS WRESTLING
Union Tournament
UNION, Mo. – Northwest edged Ste. Genevieve by a single point, 203-202, to emerge with the Union Tournament title in girls wrestling action on Friday night.
The Dragons celebrated a runner-up result among 20 teams plus three bracket champions with Lexi Wolk, Anna Fischer and Keely Fallert.
Lexi Wolk (100) pinned all three of her opponents within the first 1:12. Fischer (170) and Fallert (145) each executed four consecutive falls to top the podium.
Aila Wolk (115) and Hailey Davis (120) posted second-place runs after pinning three straight foes to reach their respective finals.
Lilli Farlow (125) notched an 8-0 decision in her third-place bout for the Dragons, and picked up three previous falls in a 4-1 showing.
Aniston Cremer (155) finished fourth after winning three times by fall, and Maggie Price (135) was sixth with two pins in five contests.
Potosi stacked up 10th in the team chase, and was paced by Zowee Gamble (235) with two falls and a second-place conclusion.
Launa Cantrell (170) collected a team-high four falls while taking third, and Shelby Pendleton (190) ended her own third-place performance with three falls.
Kammara Tedder (115) seized two falls and a 9-7 decision over five matches to finish fourth for the Lady Trojans. Jazmine Ramsey (190) added two falls and a major decision for seventh.
Ashlyn Robinson highlighted Farmington by placing fifth at 110 pounds. She was seeded fifth out of 16 competitors, and went 4-2 with four falls.
Gweneth Hartleb (170) ended up seventh at 2-2 with a fall and 3-0 decision for the Knights. Kaylee Smith (115), Kaylin Dollins (120) and Sarah Perret (140) each went 1-2 with a fall.
Parkway West Tournament
BALLWIN, Mo. – Three members of the North County girls wrestling team finished third in their weight divisions Saturday at the Parkway West Tournament.
Jaydah Freeman (115) recorded a team-high four falls during five round-robin matches, and the Lady Raiders placed ninth in the team standings.
Keira McMillin (120) and Riley Jarvis (125) each went 4-1 with three falls. McMillin trailed 12-11 before securing a pin during the third period of her third-place bout.
Karsyn Deblois (100) posted a 3-2 record with two falls and a final 7-6 decision.
Collinsville (Ill.) edged Moberly by three points for the team crown.
Rolla Tournament
ROLLA, Mo. – Kendra Baker and Abby Rincon earned individual titles as Central finished seventh among 16 schools Saturday at the Rolla “Tough As Nails” Tournament.
Baker (125) posted a 3-0 record that began with a fall and continued with tight decisions of 10-8 in the semifinal round and 6-3 in championship match.
Rincon (120) pinned both of her opponents for the Lady Rebels. Carley Gervacio (140) was runner-up with two falls in three total bouts.
Lillee Petty competed in a four-person 115 division, and won her opening by fall before dropping a 9-1 major decision.
