Bismarck High School senior Ashley Hawkins recently signed to play volleyball and continue her education at NAIA program Lewis & Clark, located in Godfrey, Ill. Hawkins compiled 1,587 kills and 1,315 digs over four varsity seasons as a two-time all-state outside hitter, and helped the Lady Indians capture the Class 1 state championship along with a second straight district title and school-record 39 wins last fall. She also eclipsed 1,000 career points during her junior campaign as an all-conference and all-district basketball performer, and earned similar postseason honors through two years of softball. Also seated are her father Joel Hawkins, mother Cherish Hawkins and sister Ayla Hawkins. Pictured standing, from left, are Bismarck head volleyball coach Chelsea Hennes, Lewis & Clark head volleyball coach Jenna Brown, Bismarck assistant coach Chelsey Overman and Melinda Dugal.
