Oscar “Leroy” Wade
Oscar “Leroy” Wade, 97, of Farmington passed away January 2, 2026 at Maplebrook Assisted Living of Farmington. He was born August 2, 1928 in Farmington to the late C.E. and Viola (Harter) Wade. Leroy proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington, Farmington Elks Lodge #1765, and the Farmington VFW Post 5896.
He had a wide range of interests that reflected his personality and love for life. He took great pride in his collections, especially his hats, model boats, Navy memorabilia, and cars, each telling a story of passions he held dear. He also enjoyed relaxing with a good Long Island iced tea, sharing laughter, stories, and meaningful moments with family and friends. Above all, he cherished the time spent with those he loved, creating memories that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann (Meyer) Wade; second wife, Sue Wade; daughter, Angela Wade; grandson, Aaron LeTourneau; great-grandson, Austin Mana; three siblings, Edsel Wade, Gerry Sorenson and Don Wade.
Leroy is survived by his children, Cathy Mana (Don), Mary LeTourneau (Harold), Nancy Rariden (Keith), Greg Wade (Beth), Diane Byrd (Jim); step-daughter, Kellie Grief (Matt); twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Cornelison. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the caregivers of Maplebrook Assisted Living and Heart & Soul Hospice.
Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Saturday until the time of service at 10:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son – Taylor Chapel with Deacon Mike Burch officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington. Memorial donations may be made to Farmington VFW Post 5896, the Leukemia Foundation or St. Joseph Catholic School.
