Gene Forsyth Jr., 69, of Farmington, diedSaturday, April 14, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born on July 27, 1954, in Bonne Terre, Missouri to Clara (Pulliam) and Melbourne Eugene Forsyth Sr. who preceded him in death.
Gene is survived by his wife of 51 years, Brenda (Miller) Forsyth; his daughters Michelle (Tony) Cheaney of Farmington and Cora (Jason) Cluver of Montgomery City; his grandchildren Zachary (Natalie Matthews) Cheaney, BreAnna Cheaney, Jacob (Anna Henke) Cluver, Sarah Cluver, and Jared Cluver; his expected granddaughter in June, Everly Lou; his sister Kathy (Sam) Wilson of Ellington; his niece Amy (Joe) Logan of Lesterville; and his nephew Hayden (Tama) Wilson of Poplar Bluff; along with many friends.
Gene retired from Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of employment. He attended Calvary Church in Fredericktown. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, woodworking, woodcutting, going to auctions, collecting antiques and riding his Harley. Gene will always be remembered as a hard worker and a jokester who had a great sense of humor. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume at 9 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, until time of service at 10 a.m. at Calvary Church, (1725 MO-72, Fredericktown) with Pastor Randy Sawyer officiating. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ 07078.
