A two-vehicle accident, midday April 9, in Washington County, resulted in a fatality according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
A southbound 2022 Ram 2500, driven by a 37-year-old male, was attempting to make a left turn into a private drive off MO. 21 at Peacock Rd. and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, traveling northbound on MO. 21, driven by a 55-year-old male from Potosi, struck the right front side of the Ram.
The passenger in the Equinox, a 63-year-old female from Potosi, was fatally injured, while the driver was seriously injured. The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital South by Washington County ambulance. The passenger was taken to the Washington County morgue by the Washington County coroner. All involved in the accident were wearing safety devices. The Equinox was totaled in the accident and the Ram 2500 sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Elliot Towing.
A two-vehicle accident in northern St. Francois County, Tuesday afternoon, injured both drivers.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, the two vehicles, a 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, were traveling on US 67 near Route Y, at 1:35 p.m. The driver in the Explorer, a 41-year-old female from Dittmer, suffered a medical incident and lost control of her vehicle, which was trailing the Silverado, driven by a 60-year-old male from Farmington. The Explorer struck the rear of the Silverado which caused the Explorer to travel off the right side of the roadway, striking a dirt embankment. The impact of being struck from behind caused the Silverado to travel off the left side of the roadway, striking the median cable barrier.
The female driver, who suffered the medical incident, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy St. Louis Hospital by Air Evac 8. The male driver of the Silverado suffered minor injuries and was taken to Parkland Health Center in Farmington by St. Francois County ambulance. Both drivers were wearing safety devices.
The 2010 Explorer Sport Trac was listed as totaled, and the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was listed as having extensive damage. They were removed from the scene by Buckley Towing.
An accident involving two vehicles on Mo. 221 resulted in serious injuries to one of the drivers.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that at 4:14 p.m., on Sunday, April 6, a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by a 28-year-old female from Arcadia Valley, was stopped at the intersection of MO-221 and Rte.-NN. A 2017 GMC Acadia driven by a 22-year-old female from Bloomsdale attempted to make a left turn onto MO-221 from Rte. NN and struck the front of the Volkswagen. The driver of the Acadia was not injured.
The driver of the Volkswagen suffered serious injuries and was taken to Parkland Hospital South by St. Francois County EMS. The injured party was wearing a safety device while the driver of the Acadia was not. The accident resulted in extensive damage to the Volkswagen and moderate damage to the Acadia. The Volkswagen was towed from the scene by Boyd’s Towing and the Acadia was removed by Buckley Towing.
A one-vehicle accident, Sunday morning, April 6, at 8:40 a.m. resulted in minor injuries to the driver.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that at 2016 Buick Encore, driven by a 73 -year-old female from Bonne Terre, was traveling too fast for road conditions, on St. Francois Rd. south of Shayne Drive, and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle began sliding and ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree.
The driver, who was wearing a safety device, sustained minor injuries and was transported by St. Francois County ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre. The vehicle was listed as totaled and was removed from the scene by Buckley Towing.
