Lawn mower racing is back

Sponsored by the Heartland Cowboy Coalition, lawn mower racing is coming back to Fredericktown. The races will be held at the Lion’s Club Rodeo Grounds on Hwy. OO just north of Fredericktown beginning this Saturday evening.

The Heartland Cowboy Coalition is starting several new activities in the Fredericktown area for the purpose of building a new Event Center. We’re planning lawn mower races lasting into the fall of this year, an American Family Rodeo on July 16, and a mule clinic with the renowned trainer Steve Edwards of Queen Valley, Ariz., on Oct. 8 and 9.

The planned event center will breathe new life into the area. With something for everyone, the center will draw crowds from all over. For more information on the sports areas, equestrian events, and concerts, come to our meetings the first Thursday of the month, 7 p.m., at God’s Country Cowboy Church, and check out our Facebook page.

And don’t forget the fast and furious lawn mower races this Saturday night. Gates open at 5 p.m. and concessions will be served.
