The Madison County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met Nov. 3.
Members voted in the following officers: President Allison Boyer, Vice President Joy Starkey, and Secretary/Treasurer Kim Long.
It was agreed all current members would serve until Dec. 31, 2017. The terms may be re-addressed before Dec. 31 based on the by-laws or input from chamber members.
A membership committee was formed with Tessa Rehkop, Kent Marler, and Boyer volunteering to be on the committee.
Membership pricing will be Individual - $50; businesses with 1-10 employees - $100; fraternal and religious organizations - $100; businesses with 10-50 employees - $150; and those with 50-plus employees - $225.
The chamber board discussed future involvement in Freakytown and providing information and increasing membership at other upcoming community events. Also discussed were reviewing the by-laws and "organizational practices" of the chamber.
A meet and greet social for business and membership networking was scheduled for January 2017.
Rehkop volunteered to develop a website. Marler volunteered to try to obtain the past phone number used by the Chamber.
The next meeting will be at 8:30 a.m., Nov. 23, in New Era Bank’s board room to discuss what presence the chamber will have at the upcoming "Miracles on Main Street" event. In the future, chamber board meetings will be at 8:30 a.m., the second Thursday of each month, in New Era Bank’s board room.
