The Fredericktown High School baseball team hosted the Fredericktown Wood Bat Showcase, Friday and Saturday.
The Cats opened play Friday night with a 6-5 victory over Clearwater. The Tigers scored a run in the first and two in the fifth. The Cats scored three in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh for the one-run victory.
Noah Korokis had three hits and drove home two runs. Michael Crabtree had two hits and Dylan Stafford scored twice. On the mound, Logan Winkelman got the victory, pitching an inning and a third in relief and allowing one run on one hit.
Saturday, the Blackcats lost 10-7 to the Jefferson Blue Jays. The Cats committed six errors, which led to four unearned runs and spelled the difference in the game.
Winkelman and Colten Rehkop each had two of the Cats six hits. Korokis and Russell Mathews each added a hit. Rehkop and Clark Penuel each scored twice.
Saturday afternoon, the Cats lost 4-2 to West County. Rehkop, Stafford, and Korokis each had two hits.
The Cats host Farmington, Thursday and play at Sikeston, Friday.
