Crocker, Johnson receive volunteer award

From filling the counters and windowsills with beautiful blossoms to running basic errands for residents, the volunteers of the year at Farmington Presbyterian Manor go the extra mile to serve both residents and staff.

Kathy Crocker and Cora Dell Johnson were honored as "Community Volunteers of the Year" at the Volunteer Banquet held last month. More than 40 volunteers were honored with certificates and gifts.

“We are so blessed. We have a phenomenal volunteer program, and it’s growing,” said Teresa Pinkley, Presbyterian Manor’s volunteer coordinator.

For the first time, donors who support the community’s not-for-profit mission to provide quality senior services guided by Christian values also were invited to participate.

Volunteers and donors were treated to a meal and musical entertainment by local acoustic guitarist Stormy Bennett. Many Presbyterian Manor staff members also attended the banquet to extend their thanks, and gifts of appreciation were given to donors and volunteers.
