Donald James "Donnie" Cureton, 70, of Fredericktown, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 3, 1947 in Fredericktown, a son of Frank Elick and Verna Maude (Miller) Cureton.
Mr. Cureton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jack and Delmar Cureton; and sisters Olga Jean Yount, Charlotte Cureton, Betty James and Shirley Bennett.
Survivors include daughters Elizabeth Cureton (Shane Duckworth), Jennifer Cureton (Clay Crass), Lorna (Delly) Stockmann, all of Fredericktown and Sara Bannister (Mike Zaricor) of Farmington; brothers Troy Cureton, Carl (Joyce) Cureton and Paul (Nancy) Cureton, all of Fredericktown; sisters Carol (Terry) Vance of Burlington, Iowa, Brenda (Donnie) Pogue of Fredericktown and Linda (Wayne) Beaty of Barnhart, Missouri; ten grandchildren - Courtney, Easton, Stockton, Steele, Deegan, Colyer, Mylee, Tabor, Cash and Cross; great granddaughter Bryer and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Donnie was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed his work as a livestock dealer for many years and also enjoyed hunting and horseback riding, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He was a member of the Fredericktown Masonic Lodge, VFW, Eagles and American Legion. He attended the Grace Church of the Heartland in Fredericktown.
Funeral services were Friday, December 8, 2017 at Grace Church of the Heartland with Pastor Ray Reese officiating. Internment was at the Snowdenville Cemetery near Cornwall.
