January 29, 2018 the Madison County Commission met. In attendance were Presiding Commissioner Robert (Bob) Mooney, First District Commissioner Tom Stephens and Second District Commissioner Larry Kemp. County Clerk Don Firebaugh recorded the proceedings.

EASEMENT APPROVED

Reggie Flowers, Senior Right of Way Representative from Spire (formerly Laclede Gas) requested an easement for the company to dig and install a gas line to the Madison County Ambulance District building. The Commission approved the request.

ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT

Road and Bridge Department Supervisor Gregg Pruett said he is looking for some bearings and parts that are needed to repair a backhoe. He is comparing prices among vendors.

Pruett said the department is hauling rock and boom axing this week.

COMMISSIONER REPORTS

Commissioner Stephens attended the Fredericktown City Council meeting last week and checked the condition of several district one roads.

Commissioner Kemp checked on several district two roads last week.

Presiding Commissioner Mooney also attended the Fredericktown City Council meeting last week. He presented the weekly program at the Rotary Club Monday night.

Presiding Commissioner Mooney and Commissioner Kemp attended the Solid Waste Management meeting and the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Development meeting in Perryville. They also attended the Southeast Missouri District Commissioner’s meeting in Cape Girardeau and the Environmental Roundtable in Fredericktown.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Accounts payable were presented for approval. Commissioner Stephens made a motion to approve paying the accounts as presented. Commissioner Kemp seconded the motion. The motion carried.

No further business was transacted on January 29, 2018. Commissioner Mooney adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
