Phyllis Kathryn Paine, 81, of Calimesa, California died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Calimesa Post-Acute Facility in Yucaipa, California. She was born January 31, 1935 in Bollinger County, Missouri to Dolph Starkey and Myrtle Mae Starkey.
Mrs. Paine was preceded in death by her husband Doyle Paine; son, Clayton Burnham and siblings James Starkey, Bonnie Stanfield and Luke Starkey.
Survivors include daughters Charlotte Salargo (Steve) of Yucaipa and Sheila Foster (Bill) of Hemet, California; siblings Sherman Starkey of Sedgewickville, Billy Ray Starkey of Marquand, Jack Starkey of Sedgewickville, Mama Slinger of Arnold, Audrey Starkey of Marquand and Marie Royal of Marquand; four grandchildren: Shane Merrill, James Burnham, Curtis Burnham, and Rebecca Burnham; and four great grandchildren Titus Merrill, Luke Merrill, Austin Burnham, and Adalynn Burnham.
Phyllis was raised in a Christian home and her father was a pastor at a small church. She left Missouri in 1969 and moved to California with her three children where she met and married their step-father, Doyle Paine. Mrs. Paine lived a full and busy life, working in a factory, then running a business with her husband, but she always put her family first. She truly loved her family with all her heart. Mrs. Paine was an amazing woman. Her joy and happiness would shine through when she knew she was helping others. Even in her senior years, she blessed the lives of others through her work as a caregiver to the elderly.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, February 10, 2018, at California Mobile Estates, Calimesa.
