The Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the annual awards banquet Friday at the Centene Center in Farmington.

Chamber Public Relations Coordinator Candy Zarcone said the banquet is an opportunity for the chamber to recognize the wealth of talent, success and upstanding citizenship each year.

“The name of our banquet is the ‘Celebration of Success Awards Banquet,’” she said. “We’re recognizing that we have so many people in our community who are generous, gifted and talented—and they offer those gifts to the community. This is a great way to recognize and honor them for their contributions to our community.”

Representatives will be presenting the following awards on Friday night: the Kiwanis Youth Leadership Award, DDA Downtown Pride, Daily Journal/Farmington Press Citizen of the Year, KREI/KTJJ 110% Award, KFMO/B104 Super Service Award, SFC Rotary Service Above Self Award, Froggy 96/KYLS Elite Service Award, Tradition & Progress Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Zarcone said the Lifetime Achievement Award is not presented every year, but only when an individual has been identified as a life-long contributor to the Farmington area.

The night’s keynote speaker will be John Wall, who will be speaking about the importance of leadership, which Zarcone said he is uniquely qualified to speak on due to his previous military experience.

“I’ve heard him speak before and he’s just mesmerizing,” she said. “He spoke to the Rotary Club and everybody was just hanging on his every word.”

The night will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards program at 7 p.m. Dinner is provided by Colton’s Steakhouse and Grill.
