Marceline and Donald Eugene “Tubby” Black celebrated their 66 year wedding anniversary May 31, 2013.

The couple were married in 1947 at the Methodist Church in Elvins by Theodore Probst.

They made their home in Flat River until moving to Farmington where they raised their two daughters, Linda Sue Black and Mary Kathryn and husband John Sherrill. They have two grand children, Christa Tinsley and Olivia Sherrill.

Tubby raced cars for 59 years winning several races around the area including one at St. Francois County Raceway which was his pride and joy. Tubby built his first racecar in Elvins in the Phillip’s 66 building of Pete Boyer. The number he chose for his car was number 66 after changing it to number 1 because it was easier to make than a 6. He was also an Iron Worker with Local 396 out of St. Louis.

Mareceline was a homemaker, keeping family and home together for 66 years.
