Ronald and Marietta Tiller, formerly of Farmington recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a gala event at their lakeside clubhouse in Vonore, TN. The former Marietta McCarty and her husband were married March 9, 1963 in The Marvin Chapel Methodist Church in Bonne Terre, MO and presently members of The First Presbyterian Church of Greenback, TN. They are the parents and in-laws of Todd and Kelly Tiller ofVonore; Leigh Tiller Pearson of Denver, CO; and Trey and Lyndie Tiller of Houston, TX. The couple has three grandchildren; Ella and Betsy ofVonore and Will of Houston. Marietta is the sister jsister-in-Iaw of Shirley and Larry Eaton of Farmington and Deanna and Murriel Richardson former Bonne Terre residents.
Ron is retired from The John Deere Company and he met Marietta while on assignment in Farmington. Their lives have been very active; relocating 13 times throughout their working career, attending their children's sporting event's that is still a part of their routine on the lake and skiing in CO during the winter. Marietta's activities were devoted to homemaking, being a mom, participating and making friends in her BSF groups at the various locations. Marietta is a graduate of Desloge High School and Rubicam Business College, St. Louis, MO. Ron is a graduate of Germantown High School, Germantown, TN and Tennessee Technological University Cookeville, TN.
The 50 Year Anniversary Party culminated with the couple renewing their vows. Their Pastor, Reverend David Bell, of Greenback Presbyterian Church delivered a special rendition of the vows eloquently accentuated with the Hymn; Amazing Grace played on 'live harp music that was prevalent throughout the evening. In addition to the harp music, the 60 guests were entertained with a full table of assorted food, drinks and distinctive 50th anniversary decorations.
