An area man is facing felony charges after he was arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Shawn Wooldridge, 35, of Park Hills, is being charged with three class B felonies of possession of child pornography.

According to a probable cause statement, on Oct. 11 an investigator with the Missouri State Highway Patrol was assigned to investigate a CyberTip which was reported to the National Center for Missing Exploited Children by Google.

In the report, Google reported a user uploaded three files to their network and an employee of Google reviewed the files and indicated they appeared to show child pornography. The investigator reviewed the videos and discovered they showed an adult male sexually assaulting/raping a female child.

Google indicated the files were uploaded on Sept. 18 at 7:25 p.m. by a person using an email with Wooldridge as the screen name. On Nov. 6 the investigator went to Wooldridge’s home, which the man shared with his mother, on Fifth St. in Park Hills.

Wooldridge admitted to the investigator that he has been downloading and accessing files online which show adults having sex with children for the past six months or so. Wooldridge also said he has seen files showing adults having sexual contact with children as young as infants.

Wooldridge told the investigator there were files he described as child pornography on his cell phone in addition to other cell phones and a laptop computer he had in his house. Wooldridge also confirmed the email account reported by Google as one that belongs to him and that no one else had access to it.

Wooldridge said he could not remember the specific files listed above, but said he had seen thousands of files with similar content. A search warrant was obtained and the officer located the cell phones and a laptop Wooldridge said contained child pornography files.

The investigator also found a glass pipe, several syringes, needles, baggies and digital scales. Wooldridge told the investigator he uses methamphetamine. It was noted in the report that the glass pipe contained what appeared to be methamphetamine.

Wooldridge is being held in the St. Francois County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
