An area man is being charged after a stealing case turned into a child pornography investigation.

Luke Bussey, 31, of Potosi, is charged with two class B felonies of possession of child pornography.

According to court documents, on Dec. 28 the Potosi Police Department was working on a case for stealing. They were investigating Bussey and another individual for their involvement.

Bussey was arrested at his friend’s home off Nicholson Drive in Potosi. The officer who arrested Bussey seized his cellphone during the investigation and a search warrant was applied for and granted by the judge to search the phone.

The officer hoped to find any information related to the crimes he was investigating. Instead, more than 50 images of child pornography and obscene images of young girls, who appeared to be less than 18 years old, were discovered on Bussey’s phone when the information was downloaded.

Also several videos were found that depicted men with girls, who appeared to be underage as well, on the cellphone. The officer added one video title in the report involved "petite teen schoolgirls."

It was also noted in the report that one video showed an older man with an obvious young girl being held down and screaming while she was raped.

Bussey is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $100,000 bond and upon release is to have no contact with any children under the age of 17. He is also not to enter or loiter within a 1,000 feet of the property of any school, day care facility or playground.
