A prior sex offender is facing more sodomy charges in St. Francois County after allegedly forcing himself on a 14-year-old boy in March.

According to a probable cause statement from the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, a St. Francois County deputy reported that he attended a Children’s Advocacy Center interview on April 27 with a now 14-year-old male victim.

The report states that during the interview the victim explained how 43-year-old Timothy Ray Bellew, of Fredericktown, forced him to have deviate sexual intercourse with him two separate times.

In the statement, the deputy indicated that while interviewing Bellew he found him to be dishonest while answering questions and he contradicted statements that he made to two different deputies when he was originally arrested in the case.

According to the report, Bellew gave deputies permission to search his cellphone which showed evidence that made the reporting deputy question Bellew’s honesty. According to the victim both instances occurred in March in the victim’s home.

Bellew is a prior sex offender and according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry he has two separate charges of sexual abuse with a 6-year-old female in Fredericktown in 1990 and 1991. He also has a lengthy criminal history which includes burglary and multiple drug charges.

Bellew is being charged with two felony counts of first degree statutory sodomy for deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age. As of Tuesday evening he was being held in the St. Francois County Jail on a $200,000 cash or surety bond.

If he bonds out prior to his court appearances he must have a GPS monitoring device installed within 24 hours of posting bond and have no contact with the victim.
