Candidate slate set for August state primary election

The official filing period for Missouri candidates for the races of governor, U.S. Senate and other elected positions ended Tuesday at the secretary of state's office in Jefferson City. The state primary election is set for Aug 2.

The official filing period for Missouri candidates ended Tuesday at the secretary of state's office in Jefferson City for the races of governor, U.S. Senate and other elected positions.

In addition to U.S. senator and Missouri governor, the Aug. 2 primary election ballot will include other statewide offices, federal and state legislative seats and some judgeships.

Candidates who have filed for national, statewide and local district state offices are:

U.S. Senator — Democratic: Chief Wana Dubie, Salem; Cori Bush, Florissant; Jason Kander, Columbia; and Robert Mack, St. Louis. Republican: (Incumbent) Roy Blunt, Springfield; Kristie Nichols, Independence; Bernie Mowinski, Sunrise Beach; and Ryan D. Luethy, St. Louis. Libertarian: Jonathan Dine, Kansas City; and Herschel L. Young, Harrisonville. Constitution: Fred Ryman, Jefferson City.

District 8 U.S. Representative — Democratic: Dave Cowell, Farmington. Republican: Todd Mahn, De Soto; Phillip S. Smith, Gatewood; (Incumbent) Jason Smith, Cape Girardeau; and Hal Brown, Cape Girardeau. Libertarian: Jonathan Shell, Fredericktown.

Governor — Democratic: Leonard Joseph Steinman II, Jefferson City; Chris Koster, Jefferson City; Eric Morrison, Kansas City; and Charles B. Wheeler, Kansas City. Republican: Catherine Hanaway, St. Louis; Eric Greitens, St. Louis; John Brunner, St. Louis; and Peter D. Kinder, Jefferson City. Libertarian: Cisse W. Spragins, Kansas City; and Martin Lindstedt, Granby.

Lieutenant Governor — Democratic: Winston Apple, Independence; Russ Carnahan, St. Louis; and Tommie Pierson Sr., St. Louis. Republican: Arnie C. – AC Dienoff, O’Fallon; Bev Randles, Kansas City; and Mike Parson, Bolivar. Libertarian: Steven R. Hedrick, Warrensburg.

Secretary of State — Democratic: Bill Clinton Young , Kansas City; Robin Smith, St. Louis; and MD Rabbi Alam, Kansas City. Republican: Will Kraus, Lee’s Summit; John (Jay) Ashcroft, St. Louis; and Roi Chinn, Kansas City. Libertarian: Chris Morrill, St. Louis.

State Treasurer — Democratic: Pat Contreras, Kansas City; and Judy Baker, Columbia. Republican: Eric Schmitt, St. Louis; and Dan W. Brown, Rolla. Libertarian: Sean O’Toole, Kansas City.

Attorney General — Democratic: Jake Zimmerman, St. Louis; and Teresa Hensley, Raymore. Republican: Josh Hawley, Columbia; and Kurt Schaefer, Columbia.

District 3 State Senator — Republican: (Incumbent) Gary Romine

District 115 State Representative — Democratic: Barbara Stocker, De Soto. Republican: (Incumbent) Elaine Freeman Gannon, De Soto. Libertarian: Charles D. Bigelow, De Soto.

District 116 State Representative — Republican: (Incumbent) Kevin Engler, Farmington.

District 117 State Representative — Democratic: Travis Barnes, Park Hills. Republican: Mike Miller, Bonne Terre; and Mike Henderson, Desloge.

District 144 State Representative — Republican: (Incumbent) Paul Fitzwater, Potosi District 145 State Representative — Democratic: Ronald G. Pember, Fredericktown. Republican: Rick Francis, Perryville; and Chad Unterreiner, Perryville. Constitution: Victoria (Tori) Proffer, Fredericktown.

Circuit 24 Division 2 Circuit Judge — Democratic: (Incumbent) Wendy Lynn Wexler Horn, Farmington.
