Man killed in crash on 32

A Ste. Geneveive man died Tuesday morning after his SUV struck two dump trucks on Highway 32 near Farmington.

One person was killed in an early morning crash on Highway 32 east of Sand Creek Road outside Farmington.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, Wayne Kreitler, 42, of Ste. Genevieve, was driving his 2004 GMC Yukon westbound on Highway 32, while Phillip Aubuchon, 38, of Cadet, was driving a 2000 Kenworth dump truck and Paul Scott, 41, of Bonne Terre, was driving a 1989 Freightliner dump truck eastbound on Highway 32.

Kreitler reportedly crossed the centerline and struck the driver’s side of Aubuchon’s truck, then struck the front of the Scott’s truck. One dump truck rolled onto its side while the other stayed upright.

Both Aubuchon and Scott were wearing a seat belt. Kreitler was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Ste. Genevieve County Coroner Eric Basler.

The highway was shut down while emergency responders were on the scene.
