The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a pedestrian struck near the intersection of Highway OO and Kollmeyer Road around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The accident happened when Yuelette Hootselle, 34, of Farmington, walked into the path of a northbound 2019 Ford Edge driven by Michael DeFrancesco, of Fredericktown.

Hototselle was walking on the northbound shoulder of Highway OO at the time. Minutes earlier her car had left the right ride of the road a short distance away and went into the ditch.

She was struck by the right front of DeFrancesco’s vehicle.

Hootselle was airlifted to Mercy Hospital-St. Louis by Air Evac where she was treated for serious injuries.

DeFrancesco was not injured.
