The North County High School band will host their seventh annual Car Show and Crafts and Vendor Fair this Saturday.
This event will be held in the North County High School parking lot and is one of three major fundraisers the band boosters have each year with proceeds going toward the purchase of instruments, equipment and supplies for the upcoming school year.
The car show is open to anyone who would like to participate and trucks, motorcycles and tractors are all welcomed. Registration for the car show is $15 and the Band Boosters will be giving out dash plaques for the first 40 participants.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. with free coffee and doughnuts at the registration table. Judging starts at 1 p.m. with the awards presentation taking place at 3 p.m.
Award trophies in various categories will be given to the winners and runner-up for each category. The categories that the vehicles will be judged on include the best paint, best engine, best interior, best student car, Best in Show and more.
There will also be voting for People's Choice in some categories.
In addition to the car show, the boosters will be serving up barbecued pork steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs in addition to other concessions.
The event will also feature kids games, face painting, a 50/50 drawing and raffle baskets that the students have prepared that are up for bid. There will also be attendance prizes.
At around 10:30 a.m. the North County High School Jazz Lab band and the North County High School Jazz Ensemble will be performing for the attendees.
The Craft and Vendor Fair will have booths available at a cost of $25 for a 10-by-10 foot space for both vendors and crafters. Set up for the fair will begin at 8 a.m.
Anyone interested in a booth can contact the Band Booster’s Jeanne Spradling at 573-631-0428 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a space and to fill out our vendor contract.
Sponsors for this event include First State Community Bank, St Louis Mustangs-Leadington, Curtis Glass in Park Hills, Marler's Music in Park Hills, Keen Performance and Auto Body in Bonne Terre, Procare Automotive Repair in Bonne Terre, Kernan Auto Body in Bonne Terre, Auto Plaza, and Griffin Automotive Design.
Spradling said they would like to thank the community for their continued support of the North County band program.
“We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the day with us. The weather forecast is calling for sunshine all day,” said Spradling.
