BONNE TERRE -- Emerick “Tex” Labus, age 97, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Maplebrook Assisted Living in Farmington, Missouri. He was born on Saturday, January 22, 1921, in Falls City, Texas, to the late Stanley Francis and Mary (Banduch) Labus. Tex proudly served the United States Navy as a Merchant Marine during the Korean War. Tex was a member of St. Mathews Lutheran Church and worked on the Sante Fe Railroad as an engineer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Esther (Ritterbusch) Labus; second wife, E. Fern (Politte) Labus; step-great-grandson, Thomas W. Kater; and his siblings.
Tex is survived by his step-children from his first marriage; step-daughter and caretaker, Charlotte Arcand; nieces and nephews, David and Sharon Robinson, Mary Alcorn, Bobby Alcorn, Kevin Alcorn, and Lydia Zunker; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Tex will be missed dearly. The family would like to thank Maplebrook and Preferred Hospice for everything they do.
Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre on Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 12 p.m. until service time of 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles Hendrickson officiating.
