PEVELY -- James Alfred Jackson, age 86, of Pevely, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in Milan, Tennessee. He was born November 5, 1931, in Leadwood, Missouri, the son of the late Elizabeth (nee Cash) and William Elmer Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Betty (nee Belfield) Jackson; sons James “David” (Beth) Jackson of Cadet, Missouri, Danny Jackson of Belleview, Missouri, and Alan (Cris) Jackson of Pevely; daughters Sharon (David) Logan of Crystal City, Missouri, Alice (Steve) Miller of Milan, Tennessee, and Gina (Michael) Hicks of Pevely; a brother Herman (Phyllis) Jackson of Terre du Lac, Missouri; a sister Beulah (the late Larry) Shaner of Farmington, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers Robert (the late Gladys) Jackson, Ernest (the late Beatrice) Jackson, and Leonard (the late Fay) Jackson; and a sister Ruth (the late Wiley) Floyd.
He was retired from the maintenance department at Townhouse/Penthouse Furniture, formerly in St. Louis, Missouri, and a member of First Baptist Church of Horine, in Pevely, Missouri. Visitation Friday, December 22, 2017, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely. Funeral services Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Chris Goodwin of First Baptist Church of Horine. Interment in Leadwood Cemetery in Leadwood, Missouri. Memorials in his memory are preferred to First Baptist Church of Horine.
