Emergency personnel respond Wednesday afternoon to a van that slid on wet pavement on U.S. 67 just south of Highway 32 and hit a guardrail.

An SUV that wrecked Wednesday afternoon when it ran into trouble on wet pavement, left four people injured on U.S. 67, just south of Highway 32 in St. Francois County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 2:45 p.m. accident occurred when a southbound 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Wesley A. Smith, 31, of Bonne Terre, lost control on the wet pavement, slid off the roadway and struck the end of the guardrail.

Wesley Smith was transported by St. Francois County Ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington where he was treated for moderate injuries, along with passengers Kimberly J. Smith, 24, Desirae J. Smith, 6, and Heather E. Smith, 4, — all of Bonne Terre — who were treated for minor injuries.
