Kevin Buckley's Welding Technology morning and afternoon classes at UniTec Career Center re-fabricated a boat trailer for the Big River Stream Team.

They added canoe racks and a john boat rack so the stream team could haul several canoes, a john boat and supplies or equipment for clean up. The project including students fabricating, welding, painting, and wiring the trailer. They also added tool boxes for supplies and equipment.

Buckley thinks this type of project is a good learning experience for the students while also helping to support local organizations and working in positive community partnerships.

Jill Harris thanked Josh Vinson for donating the trailer to be renovated by the UniTec students.

She also wanted to thank local businesses that support the teams efforts. With their donations, they help make it possible for the stream team to keep our county roads and river clean. They would like to thank both Farmington and Desloge WalMart, Big Lots, Save-a-lot, and Country Mart in Park Hills and Bonne Terre.
