The Wolf Creek Fire Department battled a house fire during the early morning hours Saturday.
According to Wolf Creek Fire Chief Bart Mabry his department responded to a call around 2 a.m. Saturday for a fire at a home located at 9102 Route T and Chaffin Road.
“The house was 80 percent consumed in flames when we arrived,” Mabry said. “However, the structure was vacant and it had been for a while. The person who owned it had passed away some time this year.”
Farmington, Doe Run and other departments assisted and brought in water.
“We know there is no water out here, so we are prepared,” Mabry said. “It was about as normal of a call as you can get.”
Although the house was a total loss, Mabry said there was no evidence of foul play.
