BULLARD, Texas – Four members of the Mineral Area golf team shot a collective 57-over par during the third and final round of the NJCAA Division II District F tournament on Tuesday.
The Cardinals placed last among the six teams entered, and were 17 strokes off their best round of the event at 324 on Monday at the par-71 Eagle’s Bluff Country Club, located just south of Tyler, Texas.
Murray State (Okla.) compiled a 19-over, three-round total of 904 to edge Tyler for the championship. Mineral Area checked in with 1,017 overall (352+324+341).

Jack Waling paced the Cardinals by ending 28-over par 241 (81+76+84) – good for 18th among 28 total individuals – while Blake Hammond and Lucas Spray carded the lone MAC birdies on Tuesday.
Dalton Singer totaled 251, Hammond posted 257 and Spray finished with 268.
Emiel Van Geet of Murray State was medalist with a 1-shot victory at 224, highlighted by an even round on Monday.
