CENTRALIA, Ill. – Cindy Penaloza highlighted the attack for a second straight night with 11 kills, and the Mineral Area volleyball team rolled past Kaskaskia 25-12, 25-22, 25-17 on Thursday.

Shelby Meyer recorded 20 digs, 16 serve receptions and two aces at libero for the Lady Cardinals (19-1), who are currently ranked eighth in the nation.

Raylyn Dodd posted five blocks, including three solo, along with six kills from the middle. Isidora Stojovic knocked down eight kills, and Melissa Avendano connected on seven during the win.

Sydni Basler made seven digs and Ainslee Finch brought up six while both players served two aces. Setter Laura Danezzi compiled 24 assists and nine digs.

Kaskaskia, a member of Region 24 dropped to 16-7 overall.

Mineral Area will host Indian Hills at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
