BONNE TERRE – Nate Roberts highlighted the offense by going 3-for-3, and the North County baseball team defeated Ste. Genevieve 4-1 in a first-place conference clash on Tuesday.
Kolten Poorman threw a complete game on 87 pitches, and registered seven strikeouts in a five-hitter. He also contributed one of the eight hits obtained by the Raiders.
North County (10-5-1, 3-0) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning, and added two tallies in the third. Cody Hubbard provided two singles with a RBI.
Layton Mallow was 1-for-1 with a team-high two RBI, and Cole Ziegler reached base twice on a single and walk.
Grant Staffen doubled while equaling Zach Boyer at 2-for-3 overall, and Logan Gegg provided a single and walk for Ste. Genevieve (14-3, 3-1).
Derek Morganthaler worked five innings from the mound in defeat, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two.
Arcadia Valley 15, Kingston 5
IRONTON – Eli Vandergriff notched three RBI and finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored as Arcadia Valley rolled past Kingston 15-5 in conference play.
Stephen Pursley threw a six-inning complete game on 101 pitches, totaling four strikeouts while yielding five runs on five hits and five walks in the win.
Carter Brogan was 2-for-5 with three RBI, and the Tigers (8-7, 4-0) scored in every frame. They increased a 4-1 lead with three runs in the fourth, and ended the contest with five in the sixth.
Pursley singled and walked twice in three plate appearances, and Kyle Helms added a single with three runs scored.
Jackson Lamb amassed three stolen bases and scored twice to match teammate Jacob Gibbs. Elliot Womble singled off the AV bench.
The Tigers will seek an outright MAAA Small-School title against West County on Thursday.
Bismarck 11, Valley 3
BISMARCK – Logan Dunn homered for the second straight game, and compiled six RBI during a 3-for-4 effort to lead Bismarck past Valley 11-3 on Tuesday.
Shawn Mork had a solid performance both on the mound and at the plate. He pitched five innings and struck out eight for the win while going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two stolen bases.
Dylan Cole added two hits, Connor Sullivan had a single and RBI, and Hunter Dugal contributed another to the Bismarck hit column.
Dunn pitched two innings of relief with four strikeouts.
Fredericktown 5, Saxony Lutheran 0
JACKSON, Mo. – Senior Abby Parson netted her 12th and 13th goals of the season, and Fredericktown posted a 5-0 soccer shutout over Saxony Lutheran on Tuesday.
Arika Buxton generated 10 shots, and also added a goal and assist for the Lady Blackcats (14-2), who built a 3-0 halftime advantage.
Keeper Kyndal Dodd stopped all eight Saxony shots, and Alayna Buxton matched Parson with five steals to pace the defensive effort.
Alivia Buxton increased her own school record by notching goal No. 21, and Mallory Mathes also scored. Kayleigh Slinkard chipped in an assist.
Farmington 5, Dexter 4
DEXTER, Mo. – Nate Greif and Blane Worley were each victories in multiple matches, and Farmington earned perhaps its most satisfying win of the boys tennis season.
After nearly sweeping a highly competitive doubles stage, the Knights managed to evenly split the singles action to defeat host Dexter 5-4 on Tuesday.
Carson Sutton stepped into the No. 3 doubles level with Worley, and prevailed 8-6 while Greif joined Alex Hatch for a 9-7 result to spark Farmington (5-3).
Chase Reynolds posted an 8-0 shutout while Greif and Worley added positive singles results.
Colton Woody and Matt Rotter pushed the Dexter combination of Logan Wyman and Eric Allen to a tiebreaker before falling by the minimum two points.

BONNE TERRE – Les Copeland completed two separate matches without dropping a game, and North County recorded an 8-1 victory over visiting Arcadia Valley.
Logan Harris paired with Copeland, and Kurt Kluge teamed with Peyton McGrael for identical 8-0 doubles shutouts favoring the Raiders (6-4)
North County got singles triumphs from Landon Kater, Copeland, Harris, Kluge and McGrael.
Daniel Horn highlighted Arcadia Valley (1-3) by edging Jonathan Miller 9-7 at the No. 1 ranking.
