FARMINGTON – With two starters out of action, the West County girls basketball team still delivered career victory No. 200 to head coach Chris Brewer with ease.

The Lady Bulldogs played smothering defense during their second meeting with St. Paul in two weeks, and rolled to a 52-14 triumph on Tuesday.

Dori McRaven scored a game-high 19 points for West County (12-3), which enjoyed a dominant 39-10 halftime lead on the road.

Chloe Young and Alyssa Roever finished with 11 points each, and Cheyenne Young added eight. The Lady Bulldogs resume conference play against Kingston on Wednesday and Bismarck on Thursday.


Farmington 98, De Soto 61

FARMINGTON – A dozen players on the Farmington roster entered the scoring column in a 98-61 blowout of visiting De Soto.

Tycen Gray compiled a healthy double-double with 34 points and 11 rebounds, and the Knights (8-5) built a commanding 53-29 advantage at halftime.

Brendon Hardy finished with 26 points, six assists and six rebounds in the victory. Farmington will travel to North County for a conference showdown on Friday.

Austin West netted 17 points and Clayton Snudden added 14 for De Soto.

Kingston 48, Crystal City 43

CRYSTAL CITY, Mo. – Kingston eventually solved the Crystal City defensive pressure, and senior Cole Ragan powered a big quarter as the Cougars rallied past Crystal City 48-43.

Ragan scored 13 of his 25 points during the fourth quarter, and Kingston (6-10) seized control late by getting to the foul line and converting free throws.

Crystal City carried leads of 25-16 at halftime and 30-26 through three quarters, but was outscored from there by a 22-13 margin.

Eli Hongsermeier-Baxter compiled 12 rebounds and eight points for the Cougars, who were without starting guard Kielan Reyes due to illness.

Brady DeGeare finished with 21 points, and Chris Eisenbeis added 10 for Crystal City (3-13).

Jefferson 69, West County 55

LEADWOOD – Easton Null shared game-high honors with 22 points, and helped the Jefferson boys earn their first varsity win over West County in program history.

Daniel McWhorter dropped in 14 points, and Jon Weik contributed nine for the Blue Jays (9-6).

Jefferson surged to a 32-22 lead at halftime, increased the margin to 15 points, and answered a short-lived run by the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter.

Noah Vinson paced West County (6-8) with 22 points. Nate Kinnard tallied 12 points and Reid Pratt ended with nine.

South Iron 59, Bismarck 24

ANNAPOLIS, Mo. – Bismarck continued a rough patch of games with a 59-24 road loss at South Iron.

Freshman Brock Wakefield paced the victorious Panthers with 18 points.

Austin Droege had seven points for Bismarck (3-11), which travels to Valley on Friday.


Webster Groves Triangular

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. – Dalton Berg (220), Kael Krause (152) and Kyle Crawford (113) recorded falls to help Farmington edge North County 36-30 at a neutral site on Tuesday.

The dual was among the most competitive in recent years between the rival schools. Six of 11 contested matches lasted the duration and ended in decisions.

Andrew Lappe (132) edged Jordan Borseth and Smokey Branch (138) defeated Kyle Cresswell in back-to-back bouts for the Knights.

North County was paced by Cole Cresswell (170) and Jase Odle (182) with first-period falls. Amos Littrell, Jonathon Coroama, Trevor Sutton and Briley Dickerson each earned decisions.

Farmington was open at 106 pounds, but North County forfeited at 145 and 160.

Both teams also competed against host Webster Groves. The Knights rolled to a 72-0 shutout that included eight forfeits by the Statesmen, along with pins by Dylan Allen, Lappe and Crawford.
