BONNE TERRE – The powerful and productive swing of Emma Becker factored heavily in helping the North County softball team collect 16 wins this fall.
The junior center fielder and No. 3 hitter has been recognized among MHSFCA Class 3 all-state players for a second straight year, earning Second Team status this week.
Becker equaled her First Team sophomore season total of nine home runs, and batted .425 with 28 RBI and 31 runs scored for the Lady Raiders.
She committed only three defensive errors for a .936 fielding percentage, and delivered a .959 slugging percentage with a .538 on-base mark.
Becker also headlines a list of five all-region standouts between North County and local rival Farmington. She is joined by Knights freshman pitcher Abby Robbins as First Team selections.
Robbins made in immediate impact by throwing a 2-hit shutout in her varsity debut against Festus, and notched double-digit strikeouts in eight separate starts for the Knights.
Despite an 8-10 record, she registered 16 complete games and worked 115 2/3 innings. Robbins posted a 2.30 ERA while striking out 155 overall, and opponents batted .197 against her.
Robbins finished as the Farmington offensive leader with a .393 average, 20 RBI and .639 slugging percentage. She equaled teammate Sophia White with 24 hits and four triples.
White was named to the all-region team along with fellow senior and Farmington center fielder Allyson Helms, along with North County pitcher and third baseman Kiersdan Davis.
White notched a .387 average with 22 runs scored and 11 stolen bases while playing shortstop, and had an inside-the-park home run this season.
Helms patrolled center field with just one error for the 10-10 Knights, and batted .362 with 21 hits and 14 RBI.
Davis was especially versatile for the Lady Raiders, going 8-2 with a 2.25 ERA in the circle while providing a .373 average, 28 RBI, 19 runs scored and three home runs at the plate.
Fredericktown senior shortstop Kylee Bastie secured First Team all-district honors along with Becker, Davis, Robbins, White and Helms for their respective schools.
Maizie Tyree, who split time at shortstop and the outfield, was chosen to the Class 3, District 2 Second Team for North County.
Makenna LaChance and Jocelyn Cunningham of Farmington, and Rilee Minx of Fredericktown received Honorable Mention in Class 3, District 1.
