Mineral Area Lands Versatile Jones

Central High School senior Jeremy Jones signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to continue his education and run for the Mineral Area track and field program. Jones placed sixth at last year’s Class 3 state meet in the 100-meter hurdles while also qualifying in the long jump. He recently earned all-MAAA honors in three events before becoming district runner-up in hurdles and high jump. Jones also played varsity football and basketball for the Rebels. Also seated are Central assistant track and field coach Jenn Mills and friend Alex Day. Standing, from left, are Central assistant football coach Mark Casey, MAC track and field coach Steve Davis and Central head track and field coach Scott Ragland.
