Racer turns pink or awareness

A local motorcycle racer has decorated his bike for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Kaleb Coffman, 11, of Potosi, decorated his bike with a pink background and number plates to show his support for his aunt, Tami Portell, a 22-year cancer survivor.

Coffman races in the Pee Wee Division of the Missouri Hare Scrambles.

On Oct. 6 he participated in the Offroad Riders Matter event at Osage Beach. He and his bike received many compliments and praises throughout the day. His aunt said it was the nicest surprise she had ever received.

He is the son of Matt and Crystal Coffman of Potosi and is the current point leader in his division. His final race of the season will be the Missouri Mudders in Park Hills on Oct. 27.
