LEADWOOD — Charles R. Penberthy, 90 years old, of Festus, Missouri, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, in Festus, Missouri. He was born September 24, 1926, in Leadwood, Missouri, married to Betty (McCarron) Penberthy.
Survived by daughters, Sandra (Kevin) Basler, Festus, Missouri, Carla (Tony) Mann, Festus, Missouri; sister, Linda Pashia, Potosi, Missouri; grandchildren, Bryan Basler, Matt (Nikki) Basler, Kassie Mann, and Collin Mann.
Preceded in death by Wife, Betty (McCarron) Penberthy; son, Charles P. Penberthy; brothers, Harold Penberthy, Dean Penberthy, Michael Penberthy, Dennis Penberthy; sister, Irma Cross; father, Vester Penberthy; mother, Beatrice (Marler) Penberthy.
Graveside Service will be at Crestlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. The Clergy will be Rev. Freeman Robinson. Burial will be at Crestlawn Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve. Military Honors provided by VFW post 2210. Memorials can be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church
Charles was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Navy, a life member of the VFW, and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed doing volunteer work, hunting, singing, and playing music.
