Goodbye, Huddle House. Hello, McDonald’s. Building demolition started today in Leadington. Lisa Brotherton-Barnes
Demolition has started on the former Huddle House building on Chat Road in Leadington. Initially announced in August last year, the plans generated excitement when Leadington’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans for the restaurant chain to demolish the existing structure and replace it with a new building.
Leadington city officials hope that the temperamental Missouri weather will cooperate with construction efforts and not cause delays in progress. In the wake of Big Lot’s recent closure due to corporate bankruptcy, they are pleased with the employment opportunities McDonald’s will provide.
Although a grand opening date has not been set, it is expected to happen before the end of the year.
