MSHP reports accidents involving Parkland residents
Last Saturday afternoon an accident injured the driver and occupant according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports. The accident occurred at 12:35 p.m. on Route EE in Ste. Genevieve County. The vehicle was northbound on EE when it traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, and then traveled off the right side of the roadway, this time overturning and striking a fence.
The driver was a 16-year-old male juvenile from Ste. Genevieve while the passenger was a 13-year-old, male juvenile from Farmington. Neither were wearing safety devices and both sustained moderate injuries. The passenger was transported by St. Francois County ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington. The driver was transported by Ste. Genevieve County ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
The involved vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, was extensively damaged and towed from the scene by Boyd Towing.
A Saturday morning accident in Jefferson County resulted in a totaled vehicle and minor injuries to a Farmington man according to MSHP reports.
A 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 35-year-old male from Festus, was stopped on the ramp from southbound US 67 at MO-110. A 2021 Chevrolet Trax, driven by a 20-year-old male from Farmington, was traveling eastbound on 110. The Equinox began to travel forward and its front struck the left side of the Trax. The impact caused the Trax to spin and the right side of the vehicle struck a guardrail end.
The driver of the Equinox was not wearing a safety device but was not injured. The Farmington driver was wearing a safety device but suffered a minor injury and was taken by private conveyance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson. The 2021 Chevrolet Trax was totaled in the collision and the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox was listed with extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Fudge Towing.
A Farmington driver suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident, at 6:25 a.m., Saturday morning, in Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2014 Kia Sportage was blocking lane two of Northbound Interstate 55, north of Route M, after being involved in a previous motor vehicle crash. A northbound 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, driven by a 25-year-old male from Farmington was traveling in lane 2 on 55, approaching the Kia’s location. The front of the Chevrolet Sonic struck the rear of the Kia.
The Farmington driver, who was wearing a safety device, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by Rock Township ambulance. Both vehicles were listed as totaled and removed from the scene by Leo’s Towing.
The MSHP reported that a one-vehicle accident late Friday evening resulted in serious injuries to the driver.
A 2009 Mazda 5 was northbound on Hedgeapple Lane near Big River Drive at 11:35 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
The driver, a 48-year-old male from Bonne Terre, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by St. Francois County ambulance. The Mazda was a total loss and was removed from the scene by Marler’s Towing.
A 66-year-old Park Hills male driver suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident Friday, at 6:33 p.m., according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
The vehicle, a 2014 Kia Soul, was traveling east on Highway Y, west of Townbridge Rd., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned. The driver, who was not wearing a safety device, was taken to Mercy Hospital South by St. Francois County ambulance for his serious injuries. The vehicle was totaled and taken from the scene by Marler’s Towing.
