Bonne Terre accident results in fatality
A one-vehicle accident late Saturday night in Bonne Terre resulted in the death of one woman and moderate injuries to another.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an accident occurred at 11:41 p.m. on Raider Road at Votech Rd., involving a 2024 Polaris General X4 1000. The Polaris was traveling southbound on Raider Rd., traveled off the right road edge, struck a utility pole, and overturned.
There were three occupants in the vehicle including the driver, who was uninjured, and two female passengers. A 37-year-old female from Bonne Terre was fatally injured in the crash. She was transported to Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre by St. Francois County ambulance, where she was pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m. A 43-year-old female from Bonne Terre received moderate injuries and was transported to Parkland Health Center in Farmington by St. Francois County ambulance. It is unknown if any of the occupants were wearing safety devices.
The driver, 47-year-old Jason S. Jakoubek, of Bonne Terre, was charged with driving while intoxicated, death of another, and DWI with serious physical injury. He was taken to St. Francois County jail and placed on 24-hour hold. The Polaris was listed as totaled and transported from the scene of the accident by Marler’s Towing.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a Bismarck woman was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident on Mo. 221 north of Henson Rd., Thursday, March 20.
The woman was driving a 2017 Hyundai Tuscan northbound on Mo. 221, when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, over a driveway, and struck a tree. The accident occurred at 3:35 p.m. The 55-year-old female driver, who was not wearing a safety device, sustained serious injuries and was transported by Arch Evac to Mercy Hospital, St. Louis.
The vehicle was listed as having extensive damage and was removed from the scene by Buckley Towing.
A three-vehicle accident, Thursday, March 20 in Washington County resulted in minor injuries to two of the three drivers involved.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2021 Chevrolet 2500, driven by a 45-year-old male from Cape Girardeau, was stopped on Missouri Highway 8, west of Railroad Rd., due to construction. Stopped behind the Chevy 2500 was a 2007 Pontiac Torrent, driven by an 18-year-old female from Cadet. A 2003 Chevrolet 2500, driven by a 31-year-old male from Park Hills, failed to observe the stopped traffic and collided with the Pontiac pushing it into the rear of the 2021 Chevrolet 2500.
The drivers of the two stopped vehicles both received minor injuries and were transported by Washington County ambulances to Washington County Memorial Hospital. Both the injured drivers were wearing safety devices.
The Pontiac Torrent, which was struck from behind and pushed into the 2021 Chevrolet 2500, was totaled. The 2003 Chevrolet 2500, which struck the Pontiac, received extensive damage, and the 2021 Chevrolet 2500 sustained minor damage. The Pontiac and the 2021 2500 were taken from the scene by Elliot Towing. Buckley Towing removed the 2003 Chevrolet 2500 from the scene.
