Melba Louise Brown

DESLOGE – Melba Louise Brown, age 75, of Desloge, Missouri, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2025, at Mercy Jefferson in Festus. Born on March 8, 1950, she was the cherished daughter of the late Melvin and Margaret (Curdt) McCombs.

Throughout her life, Melba’s vibrant spirit shone through her many passions. An avid gardener, she found joy and solace in nurturing plants and flowers, transforming her home into a haven of beauty. Melba was also an excellent hunter and embraced the great outdoors with enthusiasm. She delighted in traveling to Las Vegas and Tunica, where she reveled in the thrill of adventure and discovery.

Bingo was a particular passion for Melba, and she could often be found at the local halls, engaging in friendly competition with her community. Her love for the game brought her joy and friendship, as she cherished the connections she made along the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and special friend, Paul Cross.

Melba is survived by her daughters, Angela Hill and husband Donnie; and Tonia Welch; two grandchildren, Emily Dotson and Jared Welch; many special friends and Bingo buddies also survive.

A memorial visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, May 2, 2025, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. An inurnment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
