Blackcats celebrate softball Senior Night

Fredericktown Seniors Miley Wengler (left), her parents Amanda and Jason Wengler, Becca Mangold (middle) and her parents Casey and Daniel Mangold, and Adrienne Cox (right) and her parents Heather and Jeremy Cox. They were honored on Senior Night at the Blackcats softball game Thursday against North County, winning 14-4. “Tonight, we honor not only their achievements, but also the people they have become,” Assistant Coach Chris Reagan read. Classmate and crowd members were given notes to write about their favorite memories of the seniors, and the seniors exchanged theirs. Cox said her favorite softball memory was hitting a home run, “even though it definitely bounced over”; Mangold said she threw a softball at “in the face” at Adrienne when she was accidentally hit her with a tennis ball; Wengler said her coach said “you can run six, seven laps, then push me off the bucket.” Reagan is seeing some students graduate for the first time since coaching them in 8u.
